By downloading or using Gut Check, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Gut Check is a decision-support app that uses AI to help you reflect on decisions. It is not a substitute for professional advice — financial, legal, medical, or otherwise. All AI-generated recommendations are for reflective purposes only.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Gut Check.

3. Subscription and Billing

Gut Check Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription:

Subscription name: Gut Check Pro
Price: $9.00 per month
Free trial: 7 days. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged $9.00 for the first month.
Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation: Cancel anytime via Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

4. Free Tier

Free accounts may run up to 3 gut checks per day and 10 per week. These limits may change at our discretion with reasonable notice.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (dilemmas, journal entries). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process and store it in order to provide the service. We do not use your content to train AI models.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the service.
Submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Disclaimers

Gut Check is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated content may be inaccurate. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the app's output.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gut Check's liability to you for any claims arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
